The buffet breakfast was great, with a huge selection, and the convenience store had sandwiches, ramen, pasta meals, and more at very reasonable prices. WiFi was 20/20. Check in was prompt, and the rooms were a great size, very clean and tidy. The hotel team’s English wasn’t great, but they communicated well and were so friendly. It’s a 5 minute walk to Disneyland Park, and Disney Sea is a couple of monorail stops away.

I expected more for the price. The hotel has charm, but it feels old and tired. The bigger problem was cleanliness: the room was frankly dirty and looked like it hadn’t been cleaned properly in a long time. I told reception after the first night, but came back to a room that was no cleaner. There’s no fitness center, which was another drawback. You can take the train to a park across the bay and run there, but don’t run from the hotel to the station, or security will chase you. For me, the charm didn’t make up for the cost.

I’m writing to express how disappointed I was with my recent stay at Tokyo Disneyland Hotel. It’s marketed as a five star property, but the service and unexpected fees didn’t meet the standard I’d expect from a luxury hotel. We were charged 640,000 yen to use the sofa bed that was already part of our room setup, though this hadn’t been mentioned when we booked. Later, at 21:30, housekeeping knocked and woke our four year old twins to offer the service for free. When I asked for a taxi to DisneySea because the train station didn’t take cards, I was told it would cost 5,000 yen just to call one. I also expected a complimentary shuttle or the option to buy train tickets through the concierge. A two hour late checkout, requested so my children could nap before we left, cost 30% of the nightly rate, or 460,000 yen. Breakfast was another frustration: even with a required 7:30 AM booking, we were often kept waiting, once for over 30 minutes. Front desk staff also didn’t seem to have the English needed to help international guests, and their service often felt dismissive. We travel exclusively in luxury and expect service to match the price. The extra charges and lack of basic hospitality were outrageous. I hope management takes this seriously so other families don’t have the same experience.

We marked our baby’s first birthday with a 3 days and 2 nights stay at Tokyo Disneyland Hotel, in the Beauty and the Beast room. The luxury and Disney magic were there from the moment we walked in, and the stay was truly memorable. It would have been perfect if they also had Happy Entry for DisneySea and offered more amenities. Still, I’d highly recommend this place for a special family celebration 🏰💛

Avoid this hotel. We got there the day before my birthday and were told we could enter our rooms at 15. We explored a bit, took pictures, and then headed toward the rooms so we could get to the park quickly. My dad is 73 y.o. and has recently had trouble walking, so we thought the size of the hotel might make the walk take a while. We reached the rooms at about 14:50 and waited there for the five minutes until access time. A staff member arrived with our luggage and asked whether those were our rooms. I said yes, but I hadn’t asked her to let us in. Even though the rooms were ready and she opened the doors to put our luggage inside, she said we couldn’t wait there and had to leave. I politely asked her to stay nearby for the remaining five minutes and explained my dad’s condition. She told us to go back down the hall to the elevator and stand there. I didn’t argue, but I was shocked that after paying 1200 USD for two rooms per night, we weren’t allowed to wait beside them for five minutes. After she finished with our luggage, she passed us in the elevator hall and told us to wait there for one more minute. Her words were polite, but she sounded mean and passive-aggressive. The booking process was stressful too. TDR hotels fill up so quickly, and even though I booked three months ahead, I couldn’t get breakfast. I couldn’t book any restaurants either; the available times were gone within an hour of bookings opening. It made me think the stay had to be unforgettable, so I didn’t read reviews beforehand. Some of the situations people describe are awful. I’ve worked in service for several years, so I know staff have to follow rules, but some human decency and empathy are needed too. Staying here comes with no benefits, unlike other Disney hotels: no separate entry, coupons, or discounts. The hotel pool also isn’t included in the price, something I’ve never encountered anywhere in the world.
