Ibis Styles Tokyo Bay

The hotel itself wasn’t too bad. The rooms and breakfast were okay, and it’s an easy walk to the train station, but a few service problems spoiled the stay. We’re a family of four from NZ and after 13 hours of travel wanted a decent night’s sleep. There were three beds, which we pushed together, but only three pillows. The front desk was dismissive and offered no fix, saying one person was basically free. I’d booked for four, so I wasn’t sure what they expected the fourth person to sleep on. I asked for rolled-up towels instead, which didn’t make for a great night. The kettle also didn’t work. After two tries, a receptionist came up and wiggled the cord; it worked once, then stopped again. The next night I waited twenty minutes in the check-in line just to ask about checkout because only one woman was at reception. Then my card wouldn’t operate the lift, and it took another fifteen minutes to get help.

The breakfast was good and better than expected, and I enjoyed reading the classic comic books on level 1, though they’re all in Japanese. We chose this hotel for Disneyland and used a same-day luggage delivery service, booked through Klook, to send our check-in bags, which made everything smooth. The hotel shuttle worked very efficiently for arrival and the trips to and from Disneyland. Come early if you want a seat, otherwise expect to stand in a crowded bus. Some guests didn’t thank the driver, which bothered me. Also, keep clear of the bus door: it has a sensor, and standing too close can stop it opening or closing safely. We booked one single bed and two bunk beds for two nights. Everything we needed was there, the beds were comfortable, and nothing seemed broken or below standard. I’d initially misunderstood and thought the top bunks hadn’t been made, but the front desk clarified they were made up. The crew were friendly and efficient, though they seemed constantly overworked. I noticed it at check-in and while waiting for a late Uber Eats delivery on level 1, where I stood for ten minutes twice. Breakfast staff looked just as busy. Compared with Swissotel Nankai and Mercure at Haneda airport, this front desk seemed to be working nonstop.

Getting to and from Disneyland and DisneySea was simple, which made this a great choice for our park visit. Ibis Tokyo Bay was clean and comfortable, with everything we needed. For the price, it felt like good value, and the stay went smoothly from beginning to end. I’d happily come back on another Tokyo Bay trip.

The breakfast was lovely, and our beds were really comfortable. Tokyo Disney and DisneySea were close enough, and the morning shuttle to Disney worked well. At night we skipped it and found the train easier. The hallways stayed quiet both in the morning and at night.
