Coming back for seven nights after my first three-night stay was an easy choice. The rooms are comfortable and well maintained, the location is right in the city center, and the staff are friendly, attentive, and ready to help without making a fuss. The lobby, restaurant, and rooms are all just a few steps apart, and the bar counter has a lovely city view. I got into a routine of having Yatai street food and drinks each night, then stopping by the hotel bar for one last drink. The two bartenders made those visits especially good. One, a more senior gentleman, had impressive skills and gave excellent service. His cocktails were outstanding, though I regret not getting his name. Miss Mian, the other bartender, is a young lady with a bright smile and great energy. She clearly cares about her work, and I was impressed that she remembered my drink order from my previous visit in December. It was a fantastic stay again, and I'd definitely come back. KOH

The location is hard to beat: the building is connected to the underground mall, and the subway station for the airport is right at the doorstep. The room view was impressive, and the courtyard and public spaces are stunning. Staff were very helpful and attentive without being intrusive. I had a great two-night stay and will definitely consider booking here next time I'm in Fukuoka. I'm cautious about boutique hotels because they can be hit or miss, but this one was a jackpot. I've stayed at a few dozen luxury hotels, and this is arguably one of the very best, if not the best. The amenities, room, atmosphere, and attention to detail were impeccable, and the pricing is very competitive for what you get. I'd put One Fukuoka closer to Aman hotels, which easily cost 2-3x, than to peers at similar prices like Ritz-Carlton, St Regis, and Conrad. I booked before it opened and got a decent discount. Prices have since gone up, but I still think it's excellent value. All rooms can use the public bath and library lounge, which has complimentary drinks and snacks. It's not exactly a club lounge, but every room has access. The towels, robes, and linens were plush and comfortable, and even the toilet paper gave the impression they hadn't cut any corners. There are bathroom essentials and extras, including a comprehensive skin care kit. The in-room minibar is complimentary as well. Those snacks and drinks may not cost much to provide, but even luxury hotels often nickel and dime guests for them, so I was impressed by what was included in my room. I regret not choosing a meal option, since I didn't get to try the restaurants or cafe. The floor-to-ceiling windows look impressive, but they don't block sound very well. Street noise, such as emergency vehicles, can carry up from below. The curtains also let some light in around the edges. The coin laundry is a nice touch, though you're stuck if you don't have ¥100 coins. It only takes local digital payment apps, which you can't install if you're not Japanese, and a few Chinese ones. I wasn't keen on installing Chinese spyware on my phone just to do laundry. A machine to change ¥1000 bills or ¥500 coins into ¥100 coins, or acceptance of IC card, android, or apple pay, would make it more accessible to international guests. The reception area was a little underwhelming, though that may be intentional for the minimalist look. It took me a couple of seconds to figure out where it was, and at first I thought it was part of the bar.

After a long day shopping, it was easy to get back to the hotel and relax. It's right by a shopping mall and directly connected to the Tianshen Underground Shopping Mall. The staff were incredibly friendly, and the floor-to-ceiling windows between reception and the restaurant brighten your mood straight away. The rooms even have large balconies, and it's a great fit if you want to shop and still have a relaxing stay.

We went last night for our second wedding anniversary. The restaurant had a refined, luxurious feel, and the hospitality was exceptional. From the food quality to the attentive service, everything felt top-class. Highly recommended for a special occasion.

It's one of my favorite hotels anywhere, with great service and amenities in one of Fukuoka's best locations. I'll definitely be back often.
