The room and service were both fine. The problem was the smoking room: it’s just past reception, so every trip in or out means passing it. The hallway often smelled of cigarettes, presumably when smokers opened the door and the air drifted into the non-smoking area. That setup makes little sense.

We spent 25 days here while friends and I were in town for the yard delivery of the ship crimson pearl. The location worked very well for us, and the hotel was clean and hygienic. At first we wondered how we’d manage the food, but by the second day we were enjoying it. Credo hotel also provided very good sandwich lunches, and there’s another good Indian restaurant nearby for dinner. It was an amazing trip, and I hope to return for another yard delivery.

The hotel is close to the train station, with trains to the nearest city, Oita. I liked the atmosphere and food, and there are hot baths and bicycles available for rides around town.

The prices are fair, the food is delicious, and the employees are attentive. I wish I could give them even more stars.
