For a low-cost stay, it works if you don't mind dated facilities. It was clean and felt safe enough.

Quiet and clean. An economy hotel.

At 4,000 yen for a capsule bed over the three-day weekend, it was cheap compared with the expensive hotels around Utsunomiya Station. Against Tokyo capsule hotels at the same price, though, the quality felt a little off. The bath wasn't especially good and there weren't many amenities, just a toothbrush and razor. Nothing really stood out, but it could suit someone who only needs a quick place to stay.

I was there Thursday into Friday, and the capsule quality seems to vary quite a bit. Snoring could make for a rough night, but I bring earplugs or wireless earphones to capsule hotels, so I didn't find it too noisy or lose sleep. My upper capsule was 3,300 yen. Booking on the official site costs 90 yen less for an upper bunk than a lower one, so that's a small saving if it matters to you. The building felt around 20-22°C in winter, warm enough for long sleeves. There's no air conditioning, though, so it could feel too hot or cold. The capsule has a TV and outlets, but bring your own charging cable and charger. It's about a ten-minute walk from the station. I booked around 10 PM the day I stayed, and saw quite a few empty shoe lockers when I arrived, so weekday same-day bookings may be possible. I arrived at about 3 AM; after 1 AM you need to call ahead. Payment is at the front desk, then capsule and private-room guests can store bags in lockers on the second floor. I'll use the place again when I'm in Utsunomiya.
