20251029. This is the only four-star, highest-rated hotel right next to jr wakayama station. Since it's in the same building as kintetsu department, shopping is easy, and there's plenty of affordable food in the department store food court. Check-in was quick, with few people around, and the free wifi was very fast. I booked a larger moderate double room, which had enough space to open two large suitcases easily. The shower was hot and strong, and the bed was comfortable and firm. You can ask reception for extra pillow options. On the 5th floor, there's a lounge with free coffee and tea all day, plus an open-air rooftop area to relax in during the evening. I really enjoyed my stay and will come back when I visit Wakayama.

The room was comfortable and clean, and everything was good. My only complaint would be that the water bottles could be bigger. Parking was the one negative. I arrived late and couldn't find the signs for getting into the building to check in. After you've checked in and stayed a night or two, it gets easier.

The shower rooms were clean, and the front desk was extremely helpful. Don't miss the breakfast buffet on the 5th floor. I'd come back if I visit this city again.

The hotel is close to the train station, and the front desk staff were always nice. At breakfast, though, the hostess, H. Tsuji, didn't greet me or ask whether I had a ticket. She asked the person behind me, as if I wasn't there.

There's a guest lounge on the 5th floor with free coffee, and the rooftop terrace has chairs, an artificial fireplace, and a projector. It's close to JR Wakayama station, with plenty of restaurants and convenience stores nearby. The hotel was lovely and the staff were friendly. I appreciated the free bottled water in the room, and it was nice to have a staff member on the ground floor press the elevator button for you.
