The room has lockers for valuables, and the kitchen includes a microwave and teapot. Most of the basics are there, but there are no bath towels, only face towels, and no kitchen utensils. If you get a cup of noodles, remember to take chopsticks from the shop, or you’ll be eating with your fingers :D The air conditioner is across from the beds, so cooling the bed area is difficult unless you set it to 22 degrees or lower. The mattress is incredibly thin, and I felt my bones all night. It was hard to sleep in the dorm, and I got bitten by bed bugs twice. I arrived at 20:00, after booking the room an hour earlier and paying online through Booking, but nobody was at reception. The owner leaves the desk well before check-in ends, and you’re supposed to call a number when you arrive. They don’t speak English, so if you don’t know Japanese, you could be left outside waiting for someone to let you in. I had a hard time explaining that I’d just booked and paid and needed my key. When the owner arrived, he couldn’t find the credit card payment information and first asked me to pay in cash. Have your Booking payment confirmation ready on your phone so you can show that you’ve already paid.
