The rooms were spotless, and the hostess was really friendly. There are eight units, with separate men’s and women’s rooms, washrooms, and laundry facilities. A shared kitchen and fridge are available too. It’s a handy spot for getting around: bus stop number 23 is right outside, with buses to the gorge and other places on the island. For a hike to the gorge, you can order a bento for the morning, including a vegetarian or vegan one. Otherwise, A-Coop is just across the bridge. There’s no ATM there, but they take credit cards. The lights outside our unit shone through the window at night, though it didn’t really bother us. A very cute, convenient place to stay. Highly recommend.

The owners didn’t speak English, but they did their best to help us feel comfortable. Our Japanese-style room was nice, and the bathroom had a shower and a hot tub. The location worked well, with a bus stop two minutes away on foot and the port about a 15-minute walk. The one drawback was that there was no fridge in the kitchen.

I spent four nights here as a base for day hikes. It was a cozy inn, with a bath, washing machine, and the option to cook for yourself. Restaurants are nearby, and since we had a rental car, the roomy parking lot came in very handy. The owner and the rooms were both warm and welcoming, and everything was clean.

I’ve stayed here twice, and the rooms, bathrooms, and toilets have been clean both times. The staff are very polite, and they lend each guest a face towel and a bath towel.
