The host and staff made us feel so welcome. We slept really well on the tatami mats, and both breakfast and dinner were excellent. Every sunrise and sunset, the river view felt magical ☀️ The place is very close to the trail heads for seeing the yasugis. Thanks for making our first Yakushima visit so special. We can't wait to come back ♥️♥️

Our hostess was kind and ready to help, and the guesthouse was lovely. We had comfortable futons, a nice bath, and a laundry machine. You can see the river from the dining room.

Even with our very limited Japanese, Yasuko-san was patient with us. We loved staying at Minshuku Suimeiso, and we're already missing her cooking. We had breakfast and dinner there every day, and I felt healthy eating the meals even though I usually get stomach problems when I travel. The amenities were comfortable too. In the hot, humid weather, the strong air conditioning, high-quality washing machine and detergent, and good water pressure in the communal bath shower were a real relief. Yasuko-san's warm hospitality helped us make the most of Yakushima Island.

The room had a river view and very comfortable beds, though it was a little dusty. Our hosts were kind and helpful, and when I accidentally slept in, they kept my delicious breakfast warm. It's easy to reach by bus, stop 63, and the location right beside the Anbo River is perfect. I'd definitely stay again!

Yasuko-san and the staff were so caring and sweet. Even with the language barrier, Yasuko-san tried her best to communicate and was happy to talk about our plans for the day. The place feels like visiting an aunt who makes great home cooking, tucked into a corner of Anbo with the river right next door. In the living area, you can spend time looking at original illustrations from Miyazaki Hayao. It's a guesthouse (minshuku), so the baths are shared and you may have to wait. Since Suimeiso is surrounded by nature, insects show up now and then. Spider-san appeared sometimes, but we got along peacefully, and he even protected us from a gigantic fly!! We had a fun stay and would 100% come back for the vibes. One parking note: the free parking area isn't the one across from Suimeiso. It's a bit farther away, in a larger gravel area next to the grassy area. We were super confused when we arrived.
