This is a proper ski-in, ski-out place, right on the slope, and breakfast was amazing. There’s also a private bath you can reserve for free, with a view over the slope. From the bus station we took a taxi up to the slope for 850 yen. My partner waited with our luggage while I walked the last 100m up to the hotel. The staff helped us move our bags on a snow cart. Such a good experience.

We prepaid at the counter for lunch, then waited an hour and the food still hadn’t arrived. We couldn’t stay any longer and left, and they wouldn’t let us take it away. Nobody warned us about the long wait or mentioned any kitchen problems. I wouldn’t come here for a meal. Just get drinks and cake.

The music and decor were cool, and everyone was amazingly friendly. I didn’t expect to find such tasty, pretty cakes halfway down the slope. Super comfy place too. Definitely coming back 💕

Getting luggage up the slope can be tough when the snow is deep, so keep that in mind. Taxi service starts at 8.30AM, but it isn’t available for the whole season, so check first. Arrival times depend on the weather, and the flat fare is ¥600. We were three people for two nights, including one non-skier. Our room had three beds and a private bathroom with a shower, all very new and clean. The beds creaked when we moved, but it didn’t bother us. I’d really recommend booking a room with its own shower, since the shared heated bath has time slots you have to reserve. The place has great vibes, super friendly staff, and it’s ski-in, ski-out on Uwanodai Slope. We didn’t try the food, but had a great stay and would come again 🏂

One of the few ski-in, ski-out hotels around Zao Onsen, with a great location and really friendly staff. Ask about luggage transport before you arrive. I didn’t, and the last part of the walk through the snow was hard going with my bags.
