The onsen was a highlight, especially the sulfur bath, and our room was comfortable and clean. The staff were so thoughtful: they helped us plan the ropeway trip around our bus time and even called to reserve the airport bus for us. We had a lovely stay and felt very well looked after.

I really liked the atmosphere and hope I can come back next year. The ski area is close enough to walk to, and the staff were very friendly. The bath was quite hot, but I enjoyed it during my stay. I'd recommend the place, though booking a little ahead is probably best.

The food was unbelievably good, the best meal I've ever been served. It gave us a real taste of Yamagata without needing to spend our budget at the “local” restaurants. Highly recommend, and I'll definitely be back soon.

The bath facilities were a real treat: there’s a big indoor bath, a small one outside, and another bathroom supplied by the naturally milky local hot spring. It was very soothing. The hotel feels a bit dated, though that didn’t bother me, and even with little English spoken the staff were friendly and helpful.

Meals were generous and tasty, with local produce and specialties at both dinner and breakfast. The hotel is only a few minutes’ walk from the slopes, and there’s also a shuttle to the slopes and Zao bus terminal, so ask for its schedule. They also have a discount arrangement with a shop if you’re renting ski or snowboard gear.
