Super Hotel Yamaguchi Yuda Hot Springs

I had a great stay and found it excellent value for money. The room was comfortable and clean, breakfast was great, and the staff were polite and helpful. There’s a nice onsen, plenty of amenities, and a choice of pillows. They also offer several kinds of complimentary drinks. Highly recommended!

The onsen was a real highlight. My husband and I used the separate men’s and women’s baths, and when I went at 8pm, I had the women’s bath to myself. You can check how busy it is on the TV, with one star for empty, two for a few people, and three for full. You need to wear your pyjamas and slippers, and there’s a small bag in the room for your towel. Women need a password to enter, which the receptionist gives you at check-in. The hotel’s location is convenient: the bus from Yamaguchi Station stops right in front, the train station is about 700 meters away on foot, there’s a Lawson across the road, and a parking building beside the hotel. Staff service was very good. After checking in, you can choose items like shampoo and cream from the “beauty area,” and pick free-size pyjamas and pillows with different levels of softness and firmness. There’s also an all-you-can-drink bar with soft drinks, juice, tea, coffee, and alcohol, but you have to drink everything in the breakfast hall rather than taking it to your room. Breakfast was a feast for me. It’s mostly Japanese food, though they also have bread, butter, jams, and pancakes. There was plenty to choose from, the fresh tofu was warm and delicious, and the women serving breakfast were lovely. You’re asked to wear plastic gloves at the buffet, which we didn’t mind. We were very satisfied with the setup and food, and the receptionist even gave us a small snack when we checked out. We’d happily come back.

This basic hotel in Yuda Onsen is good value, with a decent onsen on the first floor, friendly and helpful staff, and plenty of free amenities to choose from, including pillows. The rooms are standard and basic. It’s about 10 minutes north of the station.

Very good value for the money.
