Petit Hotel Epi

I'd read David Knight's earlier review about the food and came to see for myself. He was right, the food alone makes this place worth a stay, and the portions are generous. The hospitality was great too, and there's a laundry room for washing and drying. I visited during ski season and stayed 9 nights. I liked that we paid for the room and other consumables at the end of our stay instead of upfront.

A quiet spot, with quality skiing only a short 5-minute walk away. Our spacious room faced the forest. What made the stay especially memorable was how welcoming the hosts were, along with the beautifully prepared food at both breakfast and dinner. If you care about eating really well morning and night, Hotel Petit Epi is a great fit.

The food each morning and evening was amazing, and staying at Epi would be worthwhile for that alone. Mr Ishikawa, the owner, was friendly and helpful. The hotel doesn't have an onsen, but you can use the one at the nearby Okushiga Hotel. The ski lifts are a short walk away, and at the end of the day it's even quicker to walk from the bottom of the ski slope back to the hotel.

The staff know the area well and are friendly and helpful. Breakfast and dinner were amazing. I'd highly recommend staying here.
