Sanco Inn Yokkaichi Ekimae

My husband and I really enjoyed the breakfast. It was included in the price and had tasty toast, mini croissants, two kinds of juice, coffee, Japanese-style salads, egg salad, inarizushi (soybean-paste rice pockets), seasoned rice (triangular rice balls), rolls (gimbap), and miso soup. The ladies running the dining area were kind, too. I don’t get why some people complain about the food. Plenty of hotels cost much more and may not even include breakfast. The room was small, but so are most Japanese and Hong Kong Airbnbs. Compared with those, the great queen-size bed felt like heaven. There’s a half-size bathtub you can soak in. We hadn’t expected an onsen, so it was no problem that this location didn’t have one, though we did laugh when we saw an onsen photo on the display. Their bigger chain has one. The hotel also had all sorts of useful extras, including cleansing oil, facial toner and lotion, Qtips, and even hair ties, on top of soap and toothbrushes. It was a clean, nicely run place at a great price, and I’d book again. My only complaint was the beany pillows. I wish they had normal, soft puffy ones. The bumpy pillows were hard to get used to over two nights.

The location couldn’t be better, close to the train and restaurants. The bathroom was large and nice, though the clean room itself was too small to open a suitcase. There’s free WiFi, but no coffee in the room. Despite the advertisement, there was no hot tub or pool. The staff were friendly, but communication was difficult because they spoke little or no English.

I had a wonderful stay. The crew were accommodating, and both the room and comfort room were clean. I just wish the aircon controls had a translation.

Good place near kintetsu yokaichi Station. You can catch a train or bus to a nearby city at any time.
