Capsule Plus Yokohama Sauna & Capsule

I enjoyed staying here. The capsule room is comfortable, the facilities are excellent, and it’s close to the station and food places. The only issue for me was trouble connecting to the hotel Wi-Fi from inside the capsule.

The location is really convenient, and I’d likely stay here again if I were traveling solo in Yokohama. The storage space is small but okay if you’re not fussy, and the common area is a bit cramped though sufficient. The communal bath could be better, and I wish the capsule area were cooler. I think it’s a good place, just not for picky people.

The rooms are clean, service is good, and the location is perfect, so I should probably give it five stars. But you have to check out every day at 10am. That might suit business travelers, but not if you were out drinking the night before. Being woken rudely at 10am isn’t how I want to spend my time.

It felt safe, with bracelets used to enter the different areas, and the place was cozy and clean, which matters a lot to me. Most of the staff spoke decent English, which was a plus. This was my first capsule hotel stay, and it was a good experience. A few things to know: you have to leave between 10AM and 2PM, though you can store your bag in the small locker or luggage room. It’s a little inconvenient, but I understand it’s needed to keep things clean. There are only six showers for what I’d guess are 50 guests, so expect a possible queue, especially at night. They provide everything, including body wash, shampoo, face cleanser, toothbrush and toothpaste, body and face towels, and a bath mat. You’re asked to wear a uniform when you arrive. There’s only one USB charging point in the pod, and charging in the lobby is VERY slow. The pods aren’t very soundproof since they close with a curtain, but people were generally quiet apart from coming and going. On my last morning, a couple of girls were chatting and laughing, which felt pretty inconsiderate.
