Toyoko Inn Yokohama-Eki Nishi-Guchi

There are lots of great places to eat right outside, and the hotel is next to the train station. Our room was modern and clean, with everything we needed.

I stayed here over New Year's 2026. Since the hotel is only two years old, it was clean, and the staff were very friendly. There were plenty of dinner spots nearby. On January 2nd, there were so many open that I had a hard time choosing and wasn't worried about finding somewhere. Breakfast rice balls 🍙 were warm and came in a good range of options. I really liked the wonton soup and miso soup too, and had both, so I was full. I finished with coffee ☕ and took it back to my room.

The free breakfast is a bright spot: there are onigiri, bread, several soups including wonton, corn, and miso, plus vegetable and carrot juice. The lobby breakfast space is tiny, with about nine tables for two, though eating in your room seems fine. The staff there were lively and really friendly. Getting around is less pleasant. The hotel is a bit far from the station, and the cobbled sidewalks are hard to manage with a large carry-on. Late arrivals have to pass through the bar district, which can feel unsafe. The hotel is clean in general, but I did find trash in the bathroom once. The elevator needs your room key held over it before you press a floor button. Nobody explained that at check-in, so a first-time guest could be left wondering why it will not move. They also do not keep luggage after checkout, which surprised me; I have never encountered that at a Toyoko Inn or another hotel. I stayed twice for business because it was closest to where I needed to be, but it did not feel like good value, and I do not expect to return.

It was so convenient to be only five minutes from the station, and I’ll choose this place again when I’m next in Yokohama. Even though I arrived late at night, I was welcomed with a smile and sent off just as warmly at checkout. Thanks for arranging a room for me on such short notice.
