The hotel's old-fashioned charm suited my plan to explore Yokosuka's retro, deep atmosphere, and its location made it easy to enjoy the area on foot. The building is quite old, but the room and bed were spacious, the furnishings were new, and the heating kept things comfortable. I was a little uneasy about the old elevator, said to be the first installed in Yokosuka, though the sign about regular thorough inspections helped me feel reassured and added to the historical feel. After one night, I still couldn't get used to the cold toilet seat. I also noticed water left in the kettle. Since the kettle was new and it was clearly just water, I washed it and used it. The staff were polite and helpful.
