Hotel Nostal Yokote

I’m staying here now, and noise from the room next door woke me up around midnight. I put up with it for about an hour, but it didn’t seem to settle down. There’s no phone in the room, and when I called the front desk, nobody picked up. What is going on at this hotel?

I came here to recover after being ill and had booked a long stay. The hotel contacted me to ask that I check out two hours early because of electrical work. I understood, and since a notice said the work would start at 10:00, I left my room at 9:50. But the elevator had already stopped, with no emergency extension to call. I had to phone the hotel on my smartphone, and they told me to take the emergency stairs. I was shocked that the elevator was out with guests still in the building and no warning. I’d only just recovered, and had to walk down from the 7th floor. My sister, who was with me, also struggled down from the 7th floor because of her knee pain. My feet hurt for about three days after that. I stay in different hotels every weekend, but nothing like this had happened to me before, and now I’m afraid to use hotels again. The room had a refrigerator, was clean, and breakfast was good. Everything had been fine until checkout, but the way it ended left me very disappointed. I was shocked when I read the hotel’s response. Did they not pass on my feedback at all and just send a standard reply? I can’t use this hotel again or recommend it to anyone.

The room was nicely decorated, and I could stretch out on the bed and watch TV. At the front desk, they offered drinks and rusks, and the balcony had a lovely view over the city. I also appreciated the parking service. I was on a solo trip to Akita to try Yokote yakisoba, and there were several restaurants nearby where I could get it. It made for a very satisfying trip, and I’d like to visit Yokote City again.

The service was good and the hotel is new, but the room layout didn’t work for me, so I’d probably stay somewhere else next time. The parking lot was also too far away. It’s a stylish place that seems aimed at modern women, and it’s clean, as you’d expect from a new hotel. Still, I didn’t find it suited to working. I don’t understand why there’s a wine cooler instead of a refrigerator. It only holds drinks without chilling them, which seems unsuitable for a summer stay. A refrigerator would make more sense. There’s also no remote for the cooler, so you have to get out of your futon to use the switch. The sofa has a wooden back with some sharp corners, which was a nuisance.
