Yokote Plaza Hotel

We'd happily stay here again. The room was a little small, but laid out well, and check-in was smooth, with staff who were friendly and helpful. Yokote Plaza Hotel is right by the JR train station, which made the location great.

The convenient location and late check-in, along with the nice lobby staff, earned the 2 stars. We didn't get a chance to try the common hot bath, which was included at the nearby Hotel Plaza Annex Yokote. I had to book here last month because the festivals in nearby cities had filled up everywhere else. My single smoking room was filthy, with stains and dust all over. I was afraid to walk on the carpet without the indoor slippers. My friend had a different single room and found it just as bad. I only spotted the Ladies Plaza hotel across the station when we were at the train station in the morning. I wish I'd noticed it sooner. Maybe that would've been a better experience.

After getting stranded at Yokote station on the way to Yamagata in heavy snow, I spent a night here in Winter 2018. The rooms were good, and the hotel is right across from the station, so it was very convenient.

My friends paid the same, but their rooms were much bigger. Even with plenty of normal-sized rooms available, we got a smaller one. Reception had a really bad attitude, and staying here made for a horrible night. A terrible experience.
