You can rent a bike for 500 yen from the reception desk at the station's east exit. The hours are 9 to 16.5.

April 4, 2026: We're heading north by JR train after leaving Akita. Yokote is so quiet and peaceful, with hardly anyone around or any cars. To me, Japan's beauty comes through in that calm and in the way people follow the rules. Like everyone else, we went to the convenience store as soon as we got off the train. Too bad they didn't have the Iwaizumi yogurt I was looking for.
