A good choice for a business trip or a short stay. The room was nice, with all the amenities provided; it had a bidet toilet and the hairdryer was in the room. Dinner and breakfast are available too, but you need to pay extra and order ahead.

The Japanese breakfast is absolutely amazing, and the food overall is exceptional. I’ve never tried the English meal. The breakfast menu has stayed the same for over 16 years, but why change something this good? I grew up here and used to visit often. When I came back after 12 years, the hotel staff still remembered me. The room is small, but that’s just how a small Japanese hotel is.

Bread was available in the morning. Coffee would have made it even better. The area around the hotel was very quiet, and there’s a drugstore nearby, so shopping was easy. It’s a bit far to walk from the station, but Uesugi Shrine is close and handy for sightseeing. As a typical business hotel, it was fine in every way. The only thing that bothered me was the thin walls, since I could hear the TV next door quite clearly.
