Yurigahama Beach House

The guesthouse is really neat and clean, and the cafe food is delicious. It's well suited to a group or family trip, and I would definitely come back. Mr.Sato san and his wife were very kind and helpful. Since we were foreigners, he made sure we could get food we liked, and it was delicious. Mr.Sato san speaks English very well and personally guided us around because we were new to the area. He also helped arrange a boat to Yurigahama and told us the best time to visit the sandbar. Our trip went so well thanks to their efforts. The beach house is just a one-minute walk from oganekyu beach and very close to Yurigahama sandbar.

A great place to stay, with tasty food at the cafe and a helpful guide. They can handle all kinds of reservations in one place. Most of all, the people are kindhearted and became good friends. It's very foreigner-friendly, and they speak English really well. I could say so much more. Thank you for helping make our holiday a success.

There's room for up to three groups in this renovated traditional Japanese home. The shared areas are spacious, with three shower rooms, two washing machines, and a dryer. The kitchen has basic cookware, so we bought groceries from the local supermarket and cooked. We also picked longevity herb and papaya from the garden for tempura and salad. Mice may sometimes get into food, so storing it in the fridge or on shelves is a good idea. After snorkeling or taking a boat tour to Yurigahama, it's convenient to walk back from Oganeku Coast and shower straight away. The beach is within walking distance, and boats to Yurigahama leave from there. The island is beautifully kept, with flowers and greenery everywhere, almost like one big garden. A path near Oganeku Coast is lovely for a walk. From Oganeku Coast or Akasaki Lighthouse, you can see a beautiful sunrise, and looking the other way gives you a stunning sunset. The stars might be beautiful on a clear night too. On our last morning we joined Kaishabi, a beach cleanup activity. We were very satisfied with the stay and cleaned up after ourselves, since there's only one manager, who is a really humorous person.

It's a large house with just three rooms, so there's plenty of space in the shared areas. The beach is only steps away, and the location is great. There aren't restaurants, cafes, or izakayas nearby, so I'd suggest buying ingredients and making good use of the kitchen. The nights are very quiet, though the whole island is quiet. They say the sky is full of stars when there are no clouds, but we didn't get lucky with the weather. I'll definitely return to see the sunrise and the starry sky.
