It was a quiet spot with lovely views, just right for relaxing. The room was a little cottage with tatami, and it had its own private Osen, which worked well since my wife has tattoos. They picked us up at the station in a green van, though the sign was in kanji rather than English, so keep an eye out. We brought our own food, but there’s a shuttle into town if you want to eat out. Some appliances are a bit old, but that was fine for a restful stay. We did have to bring soap up from downstairs because there wasn't any in the washroom. Great value and highly recommended.

The room looked out over Yufuin valley, and we really wished we could have stayed longer. We had a private little condo for one night after getting a last-minute booking. They’re usually booked up. It was spotless and seemed quite new, and the front desk woman was sweet and pleasant. We chose beds instead of futons. The wash area and onsen are downstairs from the main room. We drove, so getting there and going into town for meals was easy. No meals were included, and they said the kitchen is currently closed, but that wasn't a big problem with a car.

Breakfast was included with our accommodation when we booked. The room was clean and had its own private onsen, down a staircase along with the bathroom. I could see Mt. Yufu from the room, and the view was beautiful. A nice ryokan.

I had a really enjoyable stay. The room looked out onto a peaceful, incredibly beautiful view, and the meals were delicious. Service was excellent, too. They even had an air steamer in the hotel, a thoughtful extra.
