The people were lovely, the place was extremely clean, and the onsen was great. One of my favorite stays in Japan.

The city views at night are stunning, and the lounge is a perfect spot to relax and read. They also have a HUGE manga collection. Walking here from the bus stop is a bit difficult.

Ryo-san and Tomomi-san are so considerate, kind, and passionate. Their hard work makes the hostel feel warm and calm, and the scenery is amazing, with views over Yufuin village and the surrounding mountains. They’ll also give you a ride from the train station, and have Friday night sport activities. Their homemade meals are so good, and the presentation is really cute. I love this place. It made my stay in Japan one I’ll never forget.

For just under 5000¥, you get a beautiful night view of Yufuin, and there’s a natural hot spring available 24 hours. The hostel is super cute and comfortable.

The owners went out of their way to make guests feel welcome. It’s a terrific hostel in a laid-back town, and the food was delicious and great value when I chose to have breakfast and dinner. I’d highly recommend staying here. I’m 56 and hadn’t stayed in a hostel for about 20 years, but this one was full of lovely people.
