We had such a great New Year’s Eve here, and the onsen was fantastic. The wagyu was outstanding, some of the best we’ve had in a long time. There aren’t many rooms, but the place feels carefully thought out, from the little authentic bridge to the lighting and decorations. It all makes for a warm, cozy atmosphere. Highly recommend it.

The local food was beautifully served and delicious, and the staff were friendly and helpful without being in your way. Having a private bath in the room was a real treat, especially since the outdoor public bath had a nicer feel but meant sharing with others. There’s also free beer available 24 hours a day, which was a fun extra. The ryokan made for a calm, relaxing break after the packed cities, and our Japanese-style room was comfortable, attractive, and practical. Even the toilet lid opened automatically when we walked in. Kinrin lake is about a ten-minute walk away, though it gets busy with other visitors. Our room was at the far end by the main road, so we heard some traffic. The low doors and beams caught me off guard, and I hit my head a few times, including in the dining room. You need to bring your room towel to the public bath, so frequent visits can leave you short. The yukatas were all one size, which suited me but was too big for my wife. Those four minor annoyances would have cost it half a star, but Google doesn’t offer half stars, so I’m giving it five.

The food was really good and high quality, and the staff were super nice. They did their best to explain things even though they couldn’t speak English. It’s a very comfortable, relaxing place for a getaway, with a private hot spring available.

The location worked out nicely, with Main Street less than a ten-minute walk away, as far as I remember. Sagiritei felt beautiful, cozy, and like a classic ryokan. Our rooms were lovely and spacious, and I especially liked the hinoki bath. The food was delicious and so plentiful that all four of us were full after every meal. The onsen was peaceful and cozy too. I’d definitely book again.

Our first time trying an onsen, and it became a memorable stay. The setting was beautiful, from the garden through to the rooms. Dinner was magnificent, and the staff were incredibly helpful.
