Kagura Mitsumata Cottages

Only a few minutes’ walk from the gondola, so it’s perfectly located for Kagura Snow Park. The room was comfortable and spacious, and the staff were kind and helpful. Highly recommended!

We had a great four-day stay at the end of January 2025, and the kids had fun playing in the snow near the accommodation. There’s a friendly, hardworking staff who can help with what you need, and they’re around from early morning until night, so don’t hesitate to ask. The traditional accommodation has multiple rooms and is a nice place to meet other travelers. You may hear people, especially kids, stomping and running around, but that was fine for us since we had kids too. The bath and restroom are shared, but modern and well maintained. There isn’t much nearby unless you’re there to ski or snowboard. The Mitsumata ropeway is only a few minutes’ walk away, and rentals and other options are available outside. Buses can run 10-15 minutes late in winter, and a taxi to the train station costs at least 3000JPY. We couldn’t get to the restaurant nearby; there are some up the mountain by gondola, though the food choices are limited. We worried heavy snow might make us miss our schedules, but everything went well. Thanks to the staff. We’ll definitely visit again.

gm connections, the restaurant attached to the hotel, has amazing food. They can accommodate dietary needs like vegan, vegetarian, and halal.

The location is unbeatable, right next to the rope way. There isn’t a nearby restaurant open after 6, so bring food or take a cab to the station. The lodge host was very kind. When I needed to rush to the station for a medical emergency, I asked him to call a taxi. Instead, he drove me there himself to save time.
