There isn’t much to do in this rather random village, and the guest house is so small that you’ll probably end up spending time with the other guests, mostly locals. That turned into a lot of fun, though. The owner is lovely, the price is low, and it’s right by the train station. I’d recommend it for a night if you’re passing through.

The owner looked after everyone so well and was kind and helpful. I slept really well in the mixed dorm and enjoyed chatting with the other guests. It was one of my favorite hostels from my three-week solo trip around Japan, and I’m already looking forward to coming back. Right next to the station, too. I’d absolutely recommend it.

The bed and shower were clean, and there’s some free parking. It’s a small, hut-like building very close to the little train station, though I don’t know how often the trains run. At 2,800 yen a night for a dorm bed, it’s a decent budget option.

The neighborhood dogs barked loudly late at night and ruined what would have been a decent night’s sleep. (The sample video is dark, but you can hear the dogs.)
