Kinondo Kwetu

I didn't stay at the hotel, just went horse riding there, but the people were really nice and the horses beautiful. The location was perfect, and riding along the beach was the best beach ride I've ever had, even though I've done it many times. If I come back to Kenya, I'll definitely visit again.

The people we spoke to on our daily beach walks had such positive things to say about the hotel's outreach work over the years. They said that wasn't true of many other hotels in the area. That made this already special place mean even more to us. We had the loveliest few days, completely switching off and enjoying ourselves. The food was delicious at every meal, thoughtfully prepared with fresh ingredients that left us feeling nourished. Staff were so friendly and helpful without intruding. Our cottage had little outdoor spots for sitting and reading, and we loved going barefoot all week and relaxing on the very comfy sun loungers. Don't miss the beef samosas from the snack menu, they're really tasty. Absolute heaven. We can't wait to come back!

We're visiting from Canada and wouldn't recommend this place. I'm staying in a nearby rental, and when I strolled by I asked if we could order food and use the beach chairs. I would have paid a fee if there was one. Security told us we couldn't use them and suggested calling the next day. The chairs were all empty. I said we'd just sit on the sand for a bit and then leave. At first he said that was fine, but later he wouldn't let us exit through the hotel and told us to move away from the beach area to another corner. I felt he was suspicious of us and didn't want us near the hotel.

The service made our honeymoon feel so special. Our waiters and bartenders were attentive throughout, but never overbearing. On our last night they arranged a private happy hour for us in the tower, with drinks and snacks while we watched the sunset. The food was incredible, from seafood and steak to fresh salads and local fruit and vegetables. We spent our days swimming in the warm ocean, resting in a shady beach cabana, playing games and having cocktails on the lounge couches, or relaxing in a tucked-away garden nook by the pool as birds flew past and monkeys swooped down from the trees. The grounds and buildings have a peaceful feel, with gorgeous thatched villas, carved wooden furniture, and a distinctive bohemian style that made the place feel like home. We had a wonderfully relaxing stay. This is a special, carefully put together place that feels like a home away from home, not a cookie cutter resort. The team made the last days of our honeymoon perfect. We highly recommend it and can't thank them enough.
