It’s quite a way from Malindi, but everything else was perfect. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and the music was just right. There’s a Kes 2,000 ticket at the entrance for outsiders, which is redeemable. The menu is a bit limited, without much variety. Still, it’s a great spot for date night, birthdays, content creation, or just a good time. If you want a beachfront place with nice aesthetics to eat, drink, and take photos, give it a visit.

Privacy was our favorite part of staying at Kasa. It really felt like our own home, and we spent the day relaxing in the villa’s private pool, playing music and enjoying the calm. The facilities, staff, food, and overall stay were all excellent. We’d definitely come back!

This is about the restaurant, not the hotel. The setting is beautiful, and our waitress was genuinely kind and attentive. But the rest of the visit went from disappointing to unacceptable. We waited about 30 minutes just to get menus and place our order, then more than two hours for the food. Delays happen, but we didn’t get clear communication or accurate updates. When the manager finally spoke with us, the explanation felt dismissive and uncomfortable. They called the restaurant a “victim of its own success,” seemed to suggest we’d ordered too much, and didn’t really apologize. The food was borderline bad once it finally came. The pasta was soggy, the fish fingers and fries were cold, the calamari was dry, and the Espresso Martini was bland. We sent three dishes back, and they came back reheated. Only after we insisted again were they taken off the bill. The delays and mistakes affected us and all the tables around us that night, and that can happen at a restaurant. What matters is owning it with honesty and grace. Instead, management was defensive and dismissive. Their comments seemed to blame local staff training and brought up the lack of an école hôtelière in Kenya. Coming from a foreign manager, that framing felt inappropriate and uncomfortable. A calm, respectful acknowledgment would have gone a long way.

There’s a nice sign on the road pointing to cafe amkeni at the same facility, but the security guards surprisingly didn’t know anything about it and turned us away. I’m not sure whether it was because of our skin color or because the cafe isn’t actually inside kasa. I’m still following up, since everything else pointed us toward the hotel.
