Watamu Adventist Beach Resort

The kitchen wasn't so good, and the deep sand by the entrance feels unsafe for motorcyclists. The place is right on the beach, with steps leading down to it. The rooms have air, and there's a strong breeze on the mezzanine overlooking the pool.

The restaurant only had non-meat options, so we didn't eat there. We were the only guests while I was there, and the resort felt a bit deserted. The staff were helpful, though they seemed unaccustomed to much guest traffic. The rooms were clean, but could do with more servicing. The AC was rusty, and the toilet tap was damaged but still worked. Our beachfront-view room faced a beach bar that played loud music through the night. The location beside the beach is perfect, and the other facilities were okay. The pool wasn't working and looked like it hadn't been cleaned for a while.

With small kids, being next to beach bars was a problem because loud music went on until 2 am. The sheets had stains and holes, the mosquito net barely stayed on its rail, and the pool wasn't clean. For the same price, you can find much better accommodation in Watamu.

It's in a good spot near the beach, and the place was quiet for a holiday, but it wasn't being maintained. The pool was dirty, there was no hot water, and it was windy. The facilities didn't match what was shown online, so I left early. There was no meat, and the vegetarian food was boring, with eggs in every meal.
