The rooftop was a great spot to unwind after a busy day, and I’d gladly come back if I’m in Battambang again. My room was fine and the AC worked well. I spent two nights here and had a really good experience. Neth at the bar was so welcoming, always smiling and happy to help. We chatted about local food and how it compares with Argentina, which made the stay feel more authentic. It was easy to pay for the room, tours, and restaurant food with Revolut, with no fees, and the hostel offers free pickup from the bus stations. I arrived at 9 pm when the other restaurants were closed, but the bar and kitchen were still open late and I could get dinner there. The food was really good and the dishes were reasonably priced, around 4 USD on average. The tours were cheaper than at other hostels I looked at, and a nice way to meet other travellers.

The wooden bunks in Dorm A were a design I really liked, and paying with Revolut didn’t add any fees. I stayed at The Place in both Battambang and Phnom Penh, and enjoyed both, especially this one. The staff here were friendly and helpful, and bus tickets were cheaper through them than online.

The rooftop restaurant was fantastic, and the rooms were clean and nice. I stayed at The Place for two nights on my Cambodia trip, and the staff were really friendly and helpful. I also joined the full day tour, which was a lot of fun and a good way to meet the other people staying there.

The dorms could be a little nicer, but they were fine for a hostel at this price. Staff were lovely and helpful, the tours were great, and the food was both really good and affordable. It’s a central spot in Battambang, with a relaxed, social hostel feel.

Panha was a great driver on our full day tour with The Place. He explained things at each stop and was hilarious while practicing his English slang with us. The bat cave and bamboo train were the highlights. We had an amazing time. Thanks, Panha!
