The room was okay, but the sliding aluminum-glazed window feels too risky. It is installed across a wider opening without protective metal framing, and its lock doesn't work. It hasn't been properly maintained. I wouldn't feel safe staying here with children.

The room is spacious and the customer service is good. The old AC makes it a bit hot inside.

The security guard, who seemed to be acting as a valet, was polite and very helpful with our luggage and directions to places we wanted to go. The location is great for temples, street food, and getting some cardio in. The price didn't feel that cheap, though, and the furniture displayed in the lobby or reception struck me as odd. Our room had two beds, but the bathroom's look didn't fit the rest of the room. We saw a small cockroach, some flies, and a tropical lizard. They also didn't provide the basic coffee and tea some hotels offer before guests book and bring in their luggage. Maybe the hotel should put more effort into staff management and the place overall.

For a bit more per night, they have some very fancy rooms. I've tried those after usually choosing the cheap rooms, and I was never disappointed when I splurged. You can get a decent room for $15 a night, so don't book ahead. Some rooms have hot water, while others have rooftop water. A couple have windows, and some don't. Excellent place.
