Kampot View Boutique Hotel

The mountain view was the first thing my family noticed, and it was nice. Inside room 501, though, the bathroom was disgusting, with odd stains on the bins and all over the unclean mirror. Something above the shower looked like it wasn’t attached to the ceiling. The fridge and TV didn’t work either. There’s more, but I can’t be bothered to write it all down.

The room had no window, even though that wasn’t disclosed and the photos showed one. The TV didn’t work, and the shower had no proper holder for hands-free use. Heavy trucks crossing the nearby bridge also made the building shake. I didn’t enjoy the stay.

The room didn’t feel fresh or properly cared for, and the staff weren’t welcoming, which made the stay uncomfortable. We were still playing in the pool around 10:10 pm when they switched off the lights. I asked for them to turn them back on, but they said we could have the lights for only five more minutes. That was so rude. Definitely not what I expected from an Agoda booking, and I wouldn’t recommend the place.

This clean, affordable hotel is near the center of Kampot, in a quiet spot overlooking the river. It worked well for a solo trip or a couple’s vacation, and it’s good value for the money. The only drawback was that the staff didn’t speak much English, though a translation app made that manageable.
