Monkey Republic Kampot - Hostel

The pool was clean and refreshing, and we spent hours there since it gets sun most of the day. There’s plenty of nice outdoor seating, and the on-site bar and restaurant had lots of food options at reasonable prices. Our private room was small but had enough space; the bed was really comfortable, and we slept peacefully without outside noise. The toilet flush was broken when we arrived but was fixed promptly, while the shower pressure was a little poor. The staff were sweet and friendly and arranged transport for us. We’re happy we chose Monkey Republic and would stay again. Highly recommend.

I liked Monkey Republic enough to come back, and it ended up being one of my favorite hostels. The staff were lovely and helpful. During my first stay they gave my friend and me a drink voucher because of the pool construction, which turned out not to be very disruptive. The restaurant had good food and a great atmosphere, with cozy indoor and outdoor spaces to hang out. It’s a short walk to the river and main part of town, with a grocery store and other amenities nearby. My first stay was in the 12-bed dorm, which was clean and good value, with a decent toilet and shower ratio, bed curtains, lockers under the bunks, and working AC. I chose the quad room next time, and its bathrooms were even better. The mattresses in both rooms were relatively comfortable. They were building a pool while I was there, so it should be an even better place to relax soon.

It’s in a great spot for getting around on foot, and the food and drinks were fantastic. Nice people, and the tour desk arranged the amazing Wild Orchard tours 🤩. The hostel was good, though the mattress in my private room was too hard for me and an outside light came through the window. Bring a sleep mask and earplugs!

The tortellini with mushrooms were amazing, and the staff were kind and helped me arrange transport and tours. I really liked how peaceful the outdoor spaces were, plus the pool was lovely. My dorm was clean, roomy, and great value. It's close enough to the busier streets without being noisy. I'd absolutely recommend Monkey Republic and would stay again.
