We stayed for two weeks in simple wooden huts tucked among the trees, with little more than a bed, windows, and the sounds of nature. You can choose private or shared facilities, and either way the stay feels close to the basics. Lonely Beach Resort sits where dense jungle meets an untouched stretch of sand. The bay is calm and crystal clear, with a small coral reef, and swimming among the glowing plankton after dark was unforgettable. The team made us feel like family, and the restaurant served delicious meals every day. It was the highlight of our trip: quiet, wild, and wonderfully cut off from the world. A special place to reconnect with nature.

We stopped by Lonely Beach for a swim, though we weren't staying there. The water was crystal clear and the beach clean, with a spectacular view and a relaxed feel. A lovely place to spend a few hours, and worth a visit even if you're staying elsewhere.

A lovely, peaceful beach. You can park beside it for 2000 riel, so don't leave your bike at the top and walk down as suggested, it's a long way. The track is sandy and rocky and barely feels like a road, so take care if you're riding.

The beach is about 2 KM off the main road, along a rough track you can walk or ride a bike. I saw my first sunset of 2026 here, with families, kids, and lots of visitors around. It made for a great atmosphere. You can ride all the way to the end, so keep going rather than leaving your bike at one of the parking spots along the route. The beach is still a fair distance from those spots. A real hidden gem, 5/5.

Lonely Beach's beauty comes from what hasn't been built there. While construction spreads across the island, this quiet stretch of sea and nature keeps showing the real beauty of Koh Rong. No big buildings or needless development, just silence, nature, and the sea. I hope it stays exactly this way. Protecting it respects the planet and preserves what makes it special.
