The rooftop bar had a nice atmosphere and live music, and the pool area felt like a hidden oasis in the middle of the busy city. We only booked one night with no real expectations, but were surprised by how lovely it was. The Royal Palace was visible from our room window, right around the corner. Rooms were clean and modern, the staff were very nice, and breakfast was excellent. A great central base, close to the landmarks, with a relaxed and luxurious feel.

Breakfast was heavenly, with small changes to the buffet each day, so it's worth booking here if you love breakfast. Khoem Sokkeang, the restaurant captain, looked after us and made wonderful barista lattes every morning. That personal touch made it feel like home. The location is perfect for exploring Phnom Penh while still being able to relax. Our room was beautiful, with a large, bright modern bathroom and a small balcony. We were welcomed with a fruit basket, and housekeeping came twice, so we always had water, coffee, and fresh towels. The fitness studio had modern equipment and a great view from the treadmill. The pool isn't big, but looked nice, though I didn't use it. I really enjoyed the stay and would come back.

From the start, the service felt like the polite, courteous Cambodian hospitality we've come to know. Breakfast had a good spread, and the spacious rooms felt like a tropical escape despite being in the city center. The location is excellent, within walking distance of many attractions, including the royal palace and independent square. I was impressed with my choice and would recommend it to anyone wanting a good hotel near the amenities.

The Royal Deluxe room was nice and reasonably priced, and the breakfast had lots of choices. Service was excellent. Special thanks to Khoem Sokkeang for the nicely decorated cappuccino each morning and her friendly service. It really made a difference. The hotel is beside the Royal Palace and near the riverfront. It felt safe to walk around, with plenty of restaurants and bars 10-15 minutes away. On weekends, the riverfront walking street is lovely, with locals and tourists gathering for food, crafts, and street performances. It's closed to traffic and about a 10-minute walk from the hotel.

The pool was a lovely place to cool off after a day out, and the hotel felt like a quiet oasis in the city. Rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable, with nice attention to detail. Breakfast offered a tasty mix of local and international food. The staff were friendly, professional, and glad to help. The location is hard to beat, right next to the Royal Palace and an easy walk from attractions, restaurants, and cafes. I had a wonderful stay at Palace Gate Hotel & Resort in Phnom Penh. Good value and service, and I'd happily stay again or recommend it to someone visiting.
