BB Angkor Residence

The rooms are very spacious, and the pool area is a lovely place to spend time. There are several grocery shops nearby with Western items, plus plenty of interesting restaurants. Pub Street is an easy short walk away.

We had a kitchen, which was handy, and the pool felt safe. The beds were a bit hard, though. It was quiet, and the location was great, right next to our favourite restaurant, The Source. Lee is a very good host and keeps the place in top shape.

We planned to stay a month, but left after three weeks. I hadn't intended to write a review, but the manager's rude, insincere attitude pushed me to. The rooms are dark with too little lighting, and in the morning smoke from the Italian restaurant next door's chimney filled ours. The pool wasn't cleaned during the month. There was just one pan in the kitchen, and it seemed at least 6-7 years old. The sheets and pillowcases were stained, and cat-sized mice crawled around the area where laundry was washed and hung. Hygiene was a major problem, so we bought cleaning supplies at the nearby market and cleaned our room ourselves. The TV and air-conditioning controls didn't work, and the bedroom TV was broken. As a hotel owner myself, I’d say this isn't a place for a long stay. The building and location give the business potential, but unfortunately it seems to be in the wrong hands.

We arrived on feb 4 2023 after booking a year in advance and paying a 450$ deposit, expecting the photos and reviews to be accurate. Our fourth-floor room was disappointing as soon as we opened the door. The bedroom air conditioner didn't work, the sheets and pillowcases were stained, the kitchen area was a mess, and the toilet's glass divider was dirty. We were exhausted, but didn't even stay an hour before heading out to find another apartment that same day. They didn't give us the full refund we asked for. The location is accessible and good, and the room was spacious, but it looked old, with dusty floors and wooden furniture. Maybe it's fine for backpackers, but I wouldn't recommend it for a long stay. Overall, we weren't satisfied.
