Green Life Cottage

We felt like part of the family throughout the khmer new years festivities, and the service was great. They can arrange tuk tuk rides to places and Pub Street, all affordable. You can also have lunch or dinner at the cottage. We chose Green Life Cottage to get a feel for authentic life at Siem Reap, and couldn’t have picked better. The room was comfortable, with a bath and huge balcony, and breakfast was very tasty. We had an amazing stay.

It’s out in the countryside, quite a way from the city center, so whether it suits depends on what you need. I saw well-maintained grounds, though they seemed rather limited in size from the entrance. The rooms looked decent, a bit worn but not exactly old, and had bathtubs. A king-size room can connect to the adjoining room with two quite wide single beds. That could work for a couple with two children, but costs more than a city room with two king-size beds. You can park your car off the road. I didn’t stay because the options weren’t suitable and I had a better choice. Also, you can’t reach it by car using the road Google Maps showed me. The last 200 meters were very narrow and I couldn’t tell what the rest of the road was like, so I turned around and lost an hour driving. Correction: Google Maps points to the wrong road. Another parallel road does lead there.

A comfortable place in the countryside near Siem Reap, though it’s a bit far from the center. You’ll need a scooter, bicycle, or tuk-tuk to get around.
