Kouprey Hotel

The lobby has statues of bulls everywhere, so it feels a bit like Spain. Kouprey is an extinct breed of ox native to Kampuchea. The whole place was spotless, and the garden around the sensational pool was lovely. It’s a fairly cheap hotel with quiet nights, a helpful staff, and an unlimited buffet breakfast until 10am. For the price, I couldn’t ask for more. You can actually swim lengths in that pool. I’d ask for beans each morning and they brought them. One day papaya wasn’t out, so I asked and they prepared some for me. When I mentioned the eggs were cold, they offered to cook fresh ones. I also had a bottle of wine chilling beside the pool for very little money, with the birds chattering nearby. Smashing.

We felt genuinely welcome throughout our stay. The staff and manager were warm and very respectful, and made us feel valued. The restaurant was clean and quiet, and the chef kindly adjusted dishes for our dietary needs. The hotel itself is spacious and well cared for, with a peaceful, inviting feel, a lovely garden full of orchids, and a large pool. If we return to Cambodia, we’ll definitely stay at Kouprey.

The food was out of this world, the pool was fantastic, and the hotel was close to all the attractions. I loved my stay, especially the fantastic staff and manager. It’s an amazing hotel, and I’d recommend it to everyone and stay again.

Our family of four spent a week here and had a really good time. The staff were attentive, breakfast was good, and the hotel restaurant offered good value.
