A good breakfast was ready each morning, and our rooms were quiet and very comfortable, with lovely beds, room to spread out, a decent sized bathroom, and great air conditioning. We slept like babies. The staff were kind and helpful with everything from arranging a day trip to suggesting local restaurants. Old Market, in the city center, is a $2 tuk tuk ride away, Panda Laundry is just around the corner, and food and drinks are a short walk away. We stayed three nights as part of our Trip To Go tour with our wonderful guide Nob. The hotel itself was a beautiful place, from its colonial-style architecture and striking lobby staircase to the refreshing pool and peaceful gardens. The stay was lovely, and we were sorry to leave.

The hotel has seen better days, though the price reflected that: $101 US for two nights. When the air conditioning in my original room wasn't working properly, the staff were extremely accommodating and upgraded me so I could sleep well. I enjoyed the swim-up bar and its Margarita. Breakfast was excellent, but I'd steer clear of the main dining room.

My room at Regency Angkor Hotel was spacious, quiet, and very comfortable, and they arranged it near the conference hall. Check-in was smooth, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The pool area was large and relaxing, while breakfast offered plenty of variety. It's a little far from the city center, so I had to take a short tuk-tuk ride to find Halal food. The gym could use some upkeep and a few small improvements. Still, it was a pleasant stay, with warm service and good value.

We booked five nights but left after just one. There was construction above the pool area, and nobody told us at check-in. Worse, the workers burned packaging outside, including black plastic and styrofoam, sending toxic fumes over the pool. We had to rush indoors to avoid breathing it. The hotel agreed to refund us, but still charged for the drinks we'd just had by the pool. I found that stingy and got the impression management didn't care about guests. The room was spacious, with very firm beds, a nice bathroom, air conditioning, a fridge, a kettle, toiletries, and a balcony with a partly blocked view toward the pool. Breakfast was okay, nothing special.

Outside, it's pretty hot, but the room feels like a refuge. The bed is fresh and the water warm, and there's a nice local feel to the place.
