Seven Candles Guesthouse

We first stayed here in 2016 and were glad to come back. The people are lovely and friendly, the rooms are clean and tidy, and the roof terrace has seating and a lounging couch. Breakfast was delicious, and they helped with tours and transport. It also feels good to support the important work they’re doing to improve opportunities for children in the city and rural areas. A great place to stay in SR, highly recommended.

This was the only terrible experience I had in Siem Reap. The washroom was the worst part: there was no shower door or curtain, so water got everywhere, including the toilet. It didn’t feel hygienic. Before that, the doorman rudely ordered me to take off my shoes, and after walking to my room I had to throw away my socks because the floor dirt had turned them black. The receptionist was wearing a facial skin mask and spoke rudely too, giving me orders instead of instructions. I left right away and found a wonderful hotel for a similar price. I strongly recommend NOT staying at Seven Candles!!!

I spent a month living at this guesthouse and was really happy with the accommodations. The beds are very comfortable, the breakfast is great, and the staff are welcoming and super friendly. They were always helpful with recommendations, finding rides for excursions, and even getting us the best tour guide. Definitely recommend it.

The only issue I had was that I couldn’t turn off the hot water in the bathroom. Otherwise, my room had all the basics, and the kind staff were very welcoming. One lady even helped me find a good place for breakfast. I got lost on the way to Pubstreet, so it took me 20 minutes to walk there, but the area was easy to get around. There’s a nearby park where you can relax or jog, and cafes and restaurants all around. It felt homey.
