Steung Siemreap Residences & Apartment

I spent three nights at Steung. My room was fine and the air conditioning worked well enough. It’s very central, with the night market, shops, pubs, and clubs all a short walk away.

The staff made this stay for me. They greeted me with a smile every time, and when I returned from the temples in heavy rain, they came out to my tuk tuk with an umbrella. There was also a cold towel and a drink on arrival. I travelled alone as a woman and felt completely safe. The room was big, the bed comfortable, and I had everything I needed. Pub Street is very close, but the hotel is far enough away to avoid the hectic feel. Breakfast was OK. The decor is a little dated, though it suits the place’s charm. I loved staying here.

I’ve stayed here twice now and would come back again. It’s good value, with a great location and a good breakfast. The staff are up to a high standard, especially Thon at reception, whose customer service really stood out.

The pool is lovely, though it doesn’t get afternoon sun because of the tall buildings around it. We had a great one-night stay otherwise: the room was large and spotless, the gym was a good size, and breakfast offered Cambodian and Western dishes plus an egg station. The location is central but quiet, and the staff were amazing. I’d recommend it.
