Templation Hotel

I haven’t stayed in the rooms, so I can’t rate them. But the breakfast bakery deserves six stars. I’ve eaten plenty of bland, spongy croissants, mostly in Australia, where size seems to matter most. I’d happily trade those huge pastries for small ones that are flaky, crisp, and warm. Temptations is the crowning jewel.

The villa’s setting is relaxing, surrounded by nature and close to Ankor Wat. At night, though, the frogs get very loud, so bring a few earplugs. The bathrooms are outdoors, which means lots of insects. Service is great, and the food is very good. I especially recommend the chicken and rice or the fried noodles.

Our guide, Mr. Sothea, made the Angkor tour special. I could have spent days learning Cambodian history with him. Templation was flawless, from the huge, immaculate grounds to the attentive staff and all the thoughtful details. Our Jungloo was completely clean and made the stay even more memorable.

We had a twin room and found it comfortable, with a lovely pool for cooling off after a day among the ruins. The beds were great, and the rooms were ideal for relaxing. Food, including breakfast, was excellent quality with a good selection. It’s mostly ordered from a menu instead of a buffet, which makes sense for a small boutique hotel. This little hotel is beautifully done and feels like a hidden gem in Siem Reap. Staff were fantastic, helpful, and attentive, and the price was very good. It’s easy to get around from here and close to Angkor Wat, making it well placed for the area. I’d definitely recommend staying here to see the temples and nearby sights.
