Villa Pumpkin

A lot of guests end up extending their stay, which says plenty. It’s an easy five-minute walk to pub street for food, drinks, and entertainment, and there’s a relaxed outdoor seating spot with a beer fridge where you can chat with Gary, Pumpkin, and other guests. The hosts were great, offering plenty of advice, help, and contacts for the things I wanted to do. The atmosphere was really pleasant, and they went well beyond what I expected.

I liked having the bar downstairs as a place to meet local people and other travellers. The owners were genuinely friendly and did a lot to help me feel at home. My room was spacious, and there’s a pleasant shared lounge with a balcony. Pub Street is only a few minutes away on foot, too.

The real highlight was Pumpkin, Gary, and their staff, who all put in extra effort to make the stay special. The rooms and hotel were spotless, and the large rooms have both air conditioning and a fan. There’s also a lovely garden with WiFi, chipmunks, lizards, and plenty more. The building itself is beautiful, and the location is peaceful at night while still being just five minutes on foot or two minutes by tuktuk from the town centre. Prices are pretty good as well. One of the best places I’ve stayed anywhere, not just in Cambodia or Southeast Asia. Highly recommended.

The hosts were cool and shared useful local tips about what to see and do. Villa pumpkin has individually styled rooms in a nice area, close enough to pub street for convenience but far enough away to miss the noise. I had a really good time there.
