Good Times Resort

The room itself was clean. But pulling up and finding nowhere to park was frustrating, and right across from our room, opposite the pool, there were piles of rubbish with several people drinking nearby. HMH!!!

The beach is just across the road, and there’s a pool, but the price felt far too high for what you get. At around $25-30, I’d probably rate it four or five stars. The place needs some maintenance, they only provide shower gel, and the quality didn’t match the cost. Parking out front may also be difficult during a holiday.

The beach nearby is awkward for walking into the water because it stays shallow. You have to go about 30 meters out before the water reaches above your chest. Around the hotel, things looked very dirty and run-down, and the staff came across as unfriendly, as if we owed them something. At first glance, the room looks clean and new, especially in the photos, but staying there made it clear the hotel needs repairs. The cold water often caused problems, so we had to wait around 10 minutes to avoid getting burned in the shower. The curtains were really dirty, and the breakfast was awful. That was the last straw for us, so we left.

I think this place may no longer be maintained, perhaps because of the Chinese investors. It seems like the resort could eventually be replaced by one of those super-luxury hotels. The room was a nightmare for bugs, and they don’t clean it. The bathroom still had stains and waste from the previous guest, and mould covered the walls, eating through the sealing.
