Better Terrace

The host was quick to respond and helpful with tips about the area. We had a clean, tidy stay, and with the beach, cafes, and convenience stores all within walking distance, the location was handy. It snowed while we were there, so the view outside was fantastic. 👍

For the price and high rating I found on Airbnb, I wasn’t expecting much, so it was a nice surprise that the stay exceeded my expectations. It’s a newly built apartment right on the beach. There was construction directly in front, and if they build it higher, the view from the lower floors could be ruined. There weren’t any bugs yet, so we enjoyed a drink on the veranda, and the fireworks going off along the beach were fun to watch. The place was in good shape, with plenty of towels, toothbrushes, and toothpaste provided.

The only real downside was the small parking lot, which had a basement smell. Otherwise, I liked the stay a lot. The facilities are modern, with a system air conditioner in each room that kept it cool. I could see the ocean from the first floor because the building sits high, and being about 50-100 meters from the beach meant no noise from cars or the beach. The Goblin filming location is right in front, and they offer delivery from a good restaurant.

I was completely satisfied with my two-week stay and had no problems. The place is fairly new, clean, and quite spacious. You can see the sunrise from the property, and the ocean is less than a five-minute walk away. Bring camping chairs and a table and you can eat your own food by the water, though cooking isn’t allowed. The parking is on basement levels one and two. There are fewer spaces on the second level, and it can get a little full on holidays, but usually there’s plenty of room and you can still park. One thing that bothered me was cigarette smell coming through the bathroom exhaust fan, possibly from frequent use of the property or from the residents themselves. On weekends or holidays, a cruise ship sets off fireworks over the ocean between 6:40 and 7:00 PM, visible from the terrace. It’s quite a sight, so if you hear a loud “pop” outside, head out to the terrace. The timing may vary by season. As of October 10, 2022, a large building was going up right in front, and once it’s finished it will likely block the ocean view completely.
