There are plenty of restaurants and eateries nearby that stay open late, which is handy for late-night travelers. The airport railway ride is a quick 20 minutes, too. I arrived after midnight and worried about checking in, but the self-check-in machine made it easy even after 11pm. Just be aware there’s no one at the front desk after 11pm. The room was surprisingly spacious, though the hotel seemed a little old. I noticed a few stains on the blanket, but I was only staying one night before an early flight, so it didn’t bother me much.

It was only a 5-7 minute walk to Unseo station, and the airport was close by subway or taxi. The bathroom walls had colored stone tiles, which was the one thing I liked. The motel seemed old and smelled a little musty. There was mold around the window and on the bathroom ceiling, and the fan was loud and unpleasant. It was listed as a Premium Double Room, but I don’t see what made it premium.

I was lucky I didn’t stay here. A few weeks after booking, the hotel asked me to pay $70 more, just two days before check-in. I’m sure it would’ve been a terrible stay. The worst hotel ever, less than one star.

The room was really nice for the price, and the entry area had its own door, so once inside I couldn’t hear hallway noise. I had a good shower and slept perfectly for about six hours before my next 12-hour flight. Afterward I walked to Lotte and picked up a prepared salad, sandwich, and snacks for the airport. It was exactly what I needed for an afternoon rest. The room cost $26 plus $6 tax, and I’ll likely use this hotel for all my short layovers in Seoul. Getting there from the airport was easy: take the ALL STOPS train two stops, around 10 minutes. Iirc, it was KRW1500 plus a 500 “deposit” on the single-use card, which you could claim back later. From the station exit it was probably under 300m on foot, with lots of fast food around. One hitch: I’d emailed ahead about day use and was told I could book 0900-1600. I was glad the reply came in both English and Korean and that I’d taken a screenshot, because the man at reception didn’t know about my arrival or the arrangement. It took close to 30 minutes for him to get approval for those hours. The photos I’m including were taken only after I’d made a mess of the room.
