Acube Hotel

I was really upset that I chose this hotel for the trip. I've never stayed anywhere in the world where the shower water was almost weaker than rain. I asked if I could switch rooms, but the staff told me the shower situation was the same throughout the whole hotel.

I was worried by the one-star reviews, since they made the place sound awful. But this is definitely a five-star stay in my book: reasonably priced, roomy, clean, with comfortable beds and lots of lighting. They leave complimentary bottled water every day. There are plenty of restaurants nearby, including one open until 1 a.m. Walk about ten minutes and you'll find 24-hour restaurants. A 24-hour convenience store is just around the corner. There's also a laundry room and a water refill station on the top floor. The carpet is old and shaggy, probably the biggest downside. Also, hope you don't get a room on the 8th floor, since there's no direct access without stairs.

A good place to rest after all the walking and travel. The location is great and it isn't too crowded. Service was really good too. Check-in was a little rough because we weren't given an access code, but luckily someone was at the desk when we arrived.

Getting around was easy from here. It sits between DDP Station and Euljiro 4(sa)-ga Station, with the underground mall route starting at the stairs by CU, and Dongdaemun and Gwangjang Markets are within walking distance. I liked being able to unlock the room with my phone and contact the hotel on WhatsApp if anything came up. Our second room had plenty of space to relax. The air conditioning was weak at first, but staff dealt with it quickly and moved us to another room. Everyone we spoke with was friendly and ready to help. Cleanliness seemed better on the seventh floor than on the second, though. The cleaner for our second-floor room seemed less thorough.
