Baiton Seoul Dongdaemun

The hotel was clean, pleasant, and well located, and most of our stay was great. But the way staff handled a missing toy left me unable to say I fully enjoyed it. We stayed at Baiton Hotel Dongdaemon from 21st to 27th April 2026. On 22nd April we went to Alpaca World Korea and bought a medium-sized brown Alpaca stuffed toy. My son slept with it that night on his inflatable bed. The next morning, April 23, we were going to Everland, so I deliberately left it on his bed instead of taking it along. When we returned, the room had been tidied and the bed made, but the toy was gone. We searched under the bed, in the toilets, and through our bags and luggage that night, with no luck. I called the front desk, and a staff member came to our room. I explained that cleaners might have picked it up with the towels and sheets. I know that can happen, and we weren't accusing anyone of theft. I only asked if he could check or call the cleaners to see whether it was in the bins. He replied, without trying, “impossible and sorry” and “we do not touch your things,” as if helping would be an inconvenience. It was only a toy, but it held a special memory for my son from that lovely day at Alpaca World. The next day we asked our tour guide to explain things to the manager, thinking there might have been a language-barrier misunderstanding. Staff still dismissed any chance of finding it, saying it was impossible they had taken it. I wasn't expecting five-star service, just some effort.

The location was quiet, with a convenience store right beside the hotel and malls within walking distance. It's a little out of the city, though you can walk to one of the main cities. The rooms are small, but they were comfortable and very clean, which was enough since we spent most of our time out. The bathroom felt especially cramped. Breakfast was really good, with some Western choices and Korean favorites like kimchi and sausages. The drinks were nice too, apart from the coffee.

I arrived with a booking, but the receptionist and staff insisted I wasn't booked there. They argued that I needed to pay for another room, and the whole thing felt disgusting. Management didn't speak English, despite all the tourists. The rooms were disgusting too, and the service was really bad. I wouldn't choose this place for a short stay.

My belt bag went missing from inside the hotel while we were sleeping, so I can't say your safety is assured there. I'd avoid this hotel. From my first-hand experience, be careful about the accommodation offered in tour packages from travel agencies in the Philippines. Mine was Airmark Tour and Dev't Inc. To be fair, Airmark Tour and Dev't Inc had outstanding guides and superb itineraries.
