The open kitchen is roomy, the heated floor is great, and the owner lent me an adapter when my plug wouldn't fit. He also gave me an apple and cookies at check-in. Still, he was pushy about taking my things and got upset when I arrived close to 11pm without ringing the bell. It was my first time in Korea and I was lost in the train stations. I didn't want to wake anyone or wait outside in the cold. He did this a couple of times, and I can understand why another female guest was upset by it too. Maybe he means well, but I didn't know him. The bathroom needs work. There's no shower curtain, so water gets on the toilet and people track it across the floor. The sink also leaks when turned on. The small plastic women's clogs are uncomfortable, so decent slippers would help. Under the bed was filthy. The room itself was cold, and the bed wasn't flat, though it didn't give me back pain. Most nights were surprisingly quiet, but one night I could hear someone upstairs snoring. There are bars and lots of smokers around, and it feels like people party nearby and then come back to sleep. That's not my idea of a good stay. I hadn't meant to stay in a party neighborhood. I should have researched more, though I had read there was hiking. Hiking in the US means nature to me, and there really isn't any here, just a neighborhood on a steep hill. It snowed the day I arrived, so getting up and down the icy hill was unsafe.

I wouldn't recommend staying here. The rooms are extremely small, and the toilet and shower are outside them. From the moment I arrived, the owner was unpleasant and kept commenting on everything, even though I was polite. I've stayed in dozens of hostels around the world, and this was my worst experience. After checkout, I had to beg him to let me leave my bags for a little while, and even then he was hardly welcoming.

I stayed one night and thought it was a good deal for the location. It's right by Itaewon's party district and station, but far enough away that I could sleep. You have to check in before 11 PM, but there's no curfew. They give you the door passcode, so you can come and go as you like. The owner was nice to me. English isn't his first language, and Korean mannerisms can differ from what visitors are used to, so I think people could be more empathetic. Some of the negative reviews seem unnecessary to me, given the low price and excellent location.

It's clean and nice, and you can walk to the Itaewon nightlife in about a block. The place is far enough away that the noise doesn't bother you. The host was really nice when I let him know ahead of time that I'd arrive late and needed to store luggage before check-in.

The location is super convenient, and the price is so low that staying a night or two is an easy choice. The rooms are okay, though there are no curtains, which seems normal for hostels in South Korea. I wouldn't stay longer.
